The Associação do Colégio Sino-Luso Internacional de Macau (ACSLIM) was established on 17th November 2021, as a non-profit entity dedicated to advancing international education in Macau. Founded with the vision of creating a bridge between diverse cultures and educational traditions, ACSLIM was born out of a collective commitment by educators and community leaders to provide an inclusive, forward-thinking academic environment. From its inception, ACSLIM aimed to nurture not only academic excellence but also intercultural respect and global citizenship among its students, setting a foundation for lifelong learning and leadership.

ACSLIM’s founding leaders have played a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s trajectory. Their combined expertise and dedication to educational innovation have fostered an environment where students are empowered to thrive in a complex, interconnected world. The leadership team consistently pursues excellence by integrating rigorous academic standards with values-driven education, ensuring that students are equipped with both critical thinking skills and a strong ethical framework.

Throughout its development, ACSLIM has achieved significant educational milestones, including the successful launch of advanced curricula that emphasize bilingual and multicultural competencies. The school’s leaders continuously invest in state-of-the-art resources and professional development, reinforcing a culture of innovation and excellence. This dynamic approach positions ACSLIM as a leading institution dedicated to cultivating future leaders who are intellectually capable, culturally aware, and socially responsible.

Generations International School is honored to be founded by ACSLIM and to collaborate closely with its visionary leadership. This partnership exemplifies a shared dedication to nurturing young learners who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society. Together, we uphold the highest standards of educational quality, innovation, and global citizenship, committed to shaping a brighter future for Macau and beyond.

ACSLIM was founded by Leonel Alves (Chairman), Nuno Jorge (Vice-Chairman) and Edith Jorge (Generations´ CEO and Co-Founder).

Leonel Alberto Alves is a highly respected senior lawyer and private notary in Macau, with a legal career dating back to 1982 after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon. He has served extensively in public roles, including as a member and First Secretary of Macau’s Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2009, deputy director of the Macau Basic Law Advisory Committee, and a member of the Executive Council of Macau since 2005. Having played a key advisory role during Macau’s transition to a Special Administrative Region, Alves embodies a deep understanding of Macau’s governance and legal framework. Recognized with several honors such as the Medal of Professional Merit and the Silver and Golden Lotus Medals of Honour, he combines significant public service with strong community leadership.

Nuno M. R. Jorge, born in Macau from a distinguished Macanese family, is a chartered architect and registered accountant with a Diploma in Architecture from the Higher School of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He also studied business organization and marketing and has broad interests including heritage preservation and modern technology. Jorge has been actively engaged in voluntary and civic organizations, notably serving as Chairman of the Macau Red Cross from 1991 to 2001 and holding leadership roles in various international and regional organizations, namely within the United Nations context. His commitment to community service and education reflects a lifelong dedication to enhancing social and cultural development in Macau.

Edith Jorge, CEO of Generations International School and and co-founder of ACSLIM, has a background of investment banking and extensive experience in Macau’s gaming and hospitality sector, including a senior leadership role overseeing budget planning and business development for one of the casino concessionaires in its Cotai integrated resort. Her deep understanding of business operations in this competitive environment complements her vision for education.

She founded Generations researching global education models and chose a unique approach combining the Finnish educational philosophy of sisu—emphasising resilience, well-being, and holistic development—with the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum to ensure academic rigor and global recognition. Edith leads the school with a focus on nurturing well-rounded, multilingual students prepared for the complexities of the modern world, balancing academic excellence with emotional and social growth.

Together, they co-founded Generations International School under the auspices of ACSLIM. Their leadership combines legal and civic expertise with a cultural and architectural sensibility, guiding the school’s mission to provide trilingual, multicultural education that aligns with Macau’s vision of bridging Lusophone heritage and modern innovation. Their deep roots in Macau’s history and their commitment to its future development give the institution a strong foundation rooted in tradition, excellence, and inclusivity.
